March 2004 marked the birth of ArmCoil’s locally designed and manufactured distribution transformer brand, ACEM, when it took over the high voltage manufacture and repair division of Hertz Technologies. ACEM, acronym for ArmCoil Electric Machines, was introduced to meet the growing local and African demand for distribution transformers.
The product line includes distribution ONAN, ONAF and distribution Dry Type transformers in the range of but not limited to 50kVA – 5000kVA, to a maximum voltage of 33kV.
ACEM distribution transformers are manufactured in our Roodepoort facility on the western side of Johannesburg.
ACEM distribution transformers are well-known for our custom-built distribution transformer manufacturing capabilities thereby complying with specific customer requirements.
ACEM distribution transformers are designed and manufactured to be robust, long life and of low environmental impact and of low maintenance, a variety of additional value add products may be applied to our units such as 3CR12 steel, high quality paint for corrosive or high humid/moisture conditions. Various high technology safety & protection auxiliary components are easily adaptable to our distribution transformer designs.
Our distribution transformer manufacturing allows for exact dimensional replacement thereby eliminating supply cable modifications or replacement.
